Antique late 17th century wrought iron splint holder, peerman

£395.00

Antique late 17th/early 18th century French wrought iron 'peerman' type lighting device, very sculpture, the spring lever would have originally held pieces of resinous wood but could also hold a candle. Usually standing on a tripod, the flat iron base is very rare and unusual- I've never seen one like before.
