A large, rare late 15th or early 16th century carved oak Corpus Christi figure, English or French, wonderful sculptural weathering throughout, the arms removed hundreds of years ago- likely as tokens of good luck by a band of soldiers (a somewhat common practice at the time), the face uniquely worn from the touch of late medieval church goers during prayer. Signs of historical woodworm, none live, but treated a few times just in case!
H 60 cm x W 14 cm x D 9 cm
