Rare 17th century Swedish thick riven pine coffer, primitive folk art
A rare 17th century or earlier Swedish thick riven pine coffer or ark, wonderfully primitive form with rustic un-planed timber, of pegged construction. Looks to have had a darker finish at one point, brought back to the original timber, original dowel hinged dug into the plank sides, pegs are replacement as is one piece of timber at the back corner of one side (as pictured).
